Description of Project Task/Duties:
CyberESI Consulting Group specializes in security engineering. We are seeking a Technical Report Assessor to work in support of NIST. The Technical Report Assessor determines if reports from private sector technical laboratories meet NIST test requirements. Based on their assessment, the Technical Report Assessor communicates with private sector technical laboratories to provide feedback and recommendations for improving test procedures.
Duties:
The Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Technical Report Assessor will provide operational support to the NIST validation program including task such as:
o reviewing laboratory-generated product test reports
o providing guidance to labs and vendors, and updating written documents for each of the validation programs
o commenting and coordinating on report comments
Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.
Minimum Experience: At least eight years cybersecurity experience.
Preferred Knowledge:
NIST publication types such as:
o NIST Interagency Reports (NIST IR)
o Special Publication (SP)
o Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)
o Derived Test Requirements (DTR)
Key concepts related to the National Voluntary Laboratory Testing Program (NVLAP) such as:
o test laboratories o protection profiles o validation
o certification
Key cryptography concepts such as:
o encryption
o cryptography
o cryptographic modules
o digital certificates
o key management
o public key infrastructure
Preferred Experience:
Past and current roles that:
o involve review of written technical materials
o require significant communication with other organizations
o support federal government agencies
